Abstract:
A travel control device (10) that controls the travel of a vehicle comprises: an object detection unit (11) that detects an object that is ahead in the advancing direction (X) of a host vehicle (VL1) and is not in the host vehicle lane (Ln1) or within the width of the host vehicle; a relative speed detection unit (12) that detects the relative speed of the object in relation to the host vehicle along the advancing direction; an acceleration-setting unit (13) that sets a target acceleration for the host vehicle along the advancing direction; and a travel control unit (14) that causes the host vehicle to travel at the set target acceleration and to pass to the side of the object, and when the relative speed is at or below a first threshold speed having a preset negative value, the acceleration-setting unit sets the target acceleration so as to be within the range from the first threshold speed to a second threshold speed having a smaller preset negative value.
