Abstract:
Provided is a travel position detection device. This travel position detection device is provided with: a map information storage unit (104) for storing map information including route information indicating road routes and lane marker information; a route position determination unit (105) for determining a route position that is a position on a road route on the basis of a travel speed, travel direction, and positioning results; an offset position detection unit (107) for detecting an offset position of a host vehicle in relation to lane markers by analyzing a road image and extracting the lane markers; and a travel position determination unit (108) for determining the travel position on a road on the basis of the route position, offset position, and lane marker information. If an offset position is not detected, the travel position determination unit estimates the travel position on the basis of the travel speed, travel direction, and previously determined travel position.
