Abstract:
This travel route calculation apparatus is provided with: a travel route calculation means for calculating a travel route for a host vehicle to arrive at a target destination; a feature detection means for detecting features; a distance measurement means for measuring a required recognition distance, which is the distance from the host vehicle to a feature required in order for the feature to be recognized by the host vehicle during a behavioral decision by the host vehicle; and a determination means for determining the difficulty of recognizing a feature, on the basis of the detection range of the feature detection means and the required recognition distance. The travel route calculation means calculates a travel route to avoid locations where the determination means has determined feature recognition to be difficult.
