Abstract:
Provided is a travel route setting system wherein: a passage time estimation unit (304) estimates, for each stop line in front of a traffic signal present in the travel direction on each route from a vehicle position to a destination, a passage time at which a vehicle will pass the stop line; for each of the plurality of stop lines, a solar position estimation unit (305) calculates, on the basis of the position of the stop line and the stop line passage time, the position of the sun at the stop line passage time; a backlight margin value calculation unit (307) calculates a backlight margin value that increases as the distance increases between the sun and the traffic signal as seen from the position of the stop line; a route backlight margin value calculation unit (308) calculates, for each route from the vehicle position to the destination, a route backlight margin value on the basis of the backlight margin value of each stop line present on the route; and a route determination unit (309) uses the route backlight margin values to determine a travel route from the vehicle position to the destination.
