Abstract:
A traveling assistance apparatus (20) is provided with: a recognition unit (24, S402); a region setting unit (26, S408); a traveling setting unit (28, S406, S410, S420-S426); and a traveling control unit (30, S412). The region setting unit sets, on the basis of the speed of a vehicle relative to an object recognized by the recognition unit, traveling prohibited regions (112, 122, 124) around the object, to which the vehicle is prohibited from entering, and further sets regions excluding the traveling prohibited regions on a traveling path as traveling permitted regions (220, 222) in which the vehicle travels. The traveling setting unit sets the target vehicle-speed and/or the target traveling trajectory of the vehicle traveling in the traveling permitted regions set by the region setting unit.
