Abstract:
Disclosed is a travelling-wave amplifier, which is provided with an input port and an output port. The travelling-wave amplifier comprises: an input transmission line with a first electrostatic protection circuit; an output transmission line with a second electrostatic protection circuit; and at least two amplifiers connected between the input transmission line and the output transmission line, wherein the equivalent capacitance and inductance of each of the electrostatic protection circuits matches capacitance and inductance of each of the amplifiers equating to each of the transmission lines. Thus, after being added to the electrostatic protection circuits, elements of the electrostatic protection circuits are also added, as part of the travelling-wave amplifier, to the input transmission line and the output transmission line, and have no impact on the original electrical properties of the input transmission line and output transmission line. By means of selecting proper element parameters, the electrostatic protection circuits have no impact on the total bandwidth of the travelling-wave amplifier, and enable an electrostatic discharge voltage range which can be borne by the travelling-wave amplifier to increase several times.
