Abstract:
Provided are: a tread rubber composition that enables the balance between formability, fuel efficiency, wet grip performance and wear resistance to be improved; and a pneumatic tire that uses the tread rubber composition. The present invention pertains to a tread rubber composition: that contains a rubber component, silica, and a compound represented by formula (I); that has, in 100 mass% of the rubber component, a conjugated diene-based monomer unit, a monomer unit based on a compound represented by formula (1), and a monomer unit based on a compound represented by formula (2); and, wherein the content of a conjugated diene polymer (A), at least one end of which has been modified by compound (G) below or an alkoxysilane compound, is 5 mass%, and the content of the silica is 5 to 150 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of the rubber component. Compound (G): at least one type of compound selected from a compound group comprising a compound having a carbonyl group and an amino group which may have a substituent group, and a compound having a thiocarbonyl group and an amino group which may have a substituent group.
