Abstract:
In order to provide a tread thickness measuring method which enables the tread thickness from a belt surface located on the outermost side of a tire to a tread surface to be accurately measured by ultrasonic measurement irrespective of the material of a belt, a tread thickness measuring method is provided with: a step for, before soaking the tread surface of a tire that is an object to be detected in a liquid stored in a water tank, spraying the same liquid as said liquid onto the tread surface; and a step for measuring the depth of a belt located on the outermost side of the tire by oscillating an ultrasonic wave toward the tread surface soaked in the liquid in the water tank and receiving a reflected wave.
