Abstract:
A treating agent for use in the formation of a chromium-free insulating coating film, which comprises (A): at least one component selected from a phosphoric acid salt of Mg, a phosphoric acid salt of Ca, a phosphoric acid salt of Ba, a phosphoric acid salt of Sr, a phosphoric acid salt of Zn, a phosphoric acid salt of Al and a phosphoric acid salt of Mn, (B): colloidal silica, (C): at least one component selected from an organic acid salt of Mg, an organic acid salt of Ca, an organic acid salt of Ba, an organic acid salt of Sr, an organic acid salt of Zn, an organic acid salt of Al, an organic acid salt of Mn, an organic acid salt of Fe, an organic acid salt of Ni, an organic acid salt of Cu and an organic acid salt of Co, and (D): phosphoric acid, wherein the component (B) is contained in an amount of 50 to 150 parts by mass in terms of an SiO2 solid content and the component (C) is contained in an amount of 5.0 parts by mass or more in terms of a metal element content, both relative to 100 parts by mass of the component (A) in terms of a solid content, and the component (D) is contained in such an amount that the molar ratio of M2+ (wherein the M2+ represents at least one element selected from Mg, Ca, Ba, Sr, Zn, Mn, Ni, Cu and Co) and M3+ (wherein the M3+ represents at least one element selected from Al and Fe) both of which are metal elements and phosphorus element P in the treatment agent can satisfy the requirement represented by the formula: 0.50 < (M2+ + 1.5×M3+)/P ≤ 1.20 and the pH value can become lower than 4.5.
