Abstract:
The treatment instrument according to the present invention comprises: an electrically insulating thermally conductive plate 13 that comprises a treatment surface ST for applying energy to biological tissue; an electrically insulating low-thermal-conductivity member that holds the thermally conductive plate 13 with the treatment surface ST in an exposed state and has lower thermal conductivity than the thermally conductive plate 13; an electrically resistant pattern 14 that is provided on a covered surface SC of the thermally conductive plate 13 covered by the low-thermal-conductivity member, and that generates heat when electrified; and an electroconductive layer 15 that is provided from the treatment surface ST to the covered surface SC of the thermally conductive plate 13. The electroconductive layer 15 comprises a radio frequency connection unit 151 that is provided to the covered surface SC and is electrically connected to an electrification member C2 serving as an electrification pathway for radio frequency current to the electroconductive layer 15.
