Title:
TREATMENT OF PAIN WITH SEROTONIN-3 RECEPTOR AGONIST
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2019/004292
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided are a medicine for preventing or treating chronic pain and a method for preventing or treating chronic pain. A medicinal composition comprising a serotonin-3 receptor agonist, for example, a compound represented by formula (I) [wherein: m represents an integer of 1-4; and R1s are independently selected from a group consisting of a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a methyl group optionally substituted by 1-3 halogen atoms, a methoxy group optionally substituted by 1-3 halogen atoms and a methylthio group optionally substituted by 1-3 halogen atoms] or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof is useful for preventing or treating chronic pain. The aforesaid medicinal composition is also effective for preventing or treating acute pain. Also provided is a method for screening a compound for preventing or treating chronic pain, said method comprising a step for measuring an agonistic activity on serotonin-3 receptors.
