Abstract:
Provided is a method for efficiently producing tungsten carbide from a raw material mixture containing a valuable material including tungsten. The tungsten carbide production method is characterized by including: a step in which tungsten is dissolved into an electrolyte by using an organic electrolyte and performing electrolysis on the raw material mixture containing the valuable material including tungsten; and a step in which tungsten carbide is obtained by firing the electrolyte having the tungsten dissolved therein, at a temperature of at least 800°C.
