Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a turbine housing assembly that, compared to conventional sheet-metal turbine housing, is lighter, more easily produced, less expensive, and has lower heat capacity. The turbine housing assembly, wherein a turbine housing having a turbine wheel inserted therein is configured by a plurality of configuration members, is characterized by comprising at least a scroll unit (2) and a pipe-shaped exhaust unit (8) configured separately from the scroll unit (2).The turbine housing assembly is also characterized by: the scroll unit (2) being formed by working one sheet of sheet metal; a recessed section (8a) penetrated by a gas discharge port (2B), and a protruding section (22a) formed by the bottom surface of the discharge gas flowpath (2A) protruding into the rear surface side of the scroll unit (2), being formed on the rear surface side of the bottom surface section (22) of the scroll unit (2); the protruding section (22a) being formed so as to surround the recessed section (22b); and by the exhaust unit (8) and the gas discharge port (2B) in the scroll unit (2) being connected, in a state in which a gap (a) is formed between the outer peripheral surface of the exhaust unit (8) and the protruding section (22a) of the scroll unit (2), by joining the recessed section (22b) of the scroll unit (2) and one end section (8a) of the exhaust unit (8) in the turbine axial direction.
