Abstract:

A turbo compounding system, according to an embodiment of the present invention, comprises: a supercharger including a turbine rotated by the pressure of an exhaust gas discharged from an engine and a compressor rotated by the rotational power of the turbine and compressing and supplying fresh external air to the engine; a motor-generator that is rotated by the rotational power of the compressor of the supercharger to generate electric power or adds rotational power to the compressor of the supercharger; and a control device that operates the motor-generator as a motor or a generator according to the current rotational speed of the engine, wherein power lost in the engine may be recovered.
