Abstract:

Disclosed is a turning structure which can reliably bear a radial load, an axial load, and a moment load, which are applied to the turning structure, and can be produced at low cost. The turning structure is provided with a ball bearing mechanism (8) having an endless ring-shaped stationary ring (81) comprised of a plurality of arciform track rails (84) having a constant radius of curvature, and a plurality of slide blocks (82) which are incorporated in the stationary ring (81) via a number of rollers (83) and are movable along the stationary ring (81); and a slide bearing mechanism (9) having a turning table (91) which is shaped like a ring, secured to the slide blocks (82) of the ball bearing mechanism (8), and supports an object to be turned, and a bearing member (92) which is formed in a substantially C-shaped section so as to clamp the turning table (91) from the axial direction of the turning structure, and constitutes a slide bearing together with the turning table (91).
