Abstract:
A twin clutch consisting of two clutch discs (3, 4) provided between a flywheel body (1) and a pressure plate (2) in a flywheel assembly; an intermediate plate (5) provided between the two clutch discs; a control unit connected to the pressure plate (2) and used to axially move the pressure plate between a clutch connecting position and a clutch disconnecting position; and first and second resilient straps (31, 20), which extend in the substantially tangential direction of the clutches, and a compression spring means, all of which are provided on the outer side of the clutch discs, the intermediate plate (5) and pressure plate (2) being connected to the flywheel assembly by the first and second resilient straps (31, 20) so that the plates (5, 2) cannot be turned relatively to each other and can be moved axially, the compression spring means being provided therein with a compression spring (25) interposed between the intermediate plate (5) and pressure plate (2) and extending in the substantially axial direction of the clutch, the axial positions of the pressure plate (2) and intermediate plate (5) in a clutch disconnection state being maintained constant by the first and second resilient straps (31, 20) and compression spring means.
