Abstract:
The invention relates to screw conveyors and can be used for loading organic waste, petroleum sludge or lignin slurry waste into a reactor for heat treatment. A twin-screw loading device comprises a shell (1) with loading and unloading ports (2) and (3). Mounted inside said shell (1) are two intermeshing screws (5) with parallel axes, which are connected to an actuator for rotating the screws. Mounted to the outer surface of the shell (1) are heating sections (19), each of which comprises a removable shroud (13) with electrical heating elements (12) fastened therein. The cross-sectional outline of the inner surfaces of the shroud (13) which abut the shell (1) is conformal with the cross-sectional outline of the outer surface of the shell (1). The invention makes it possible to reduce significantly the time taken to replace a spent electrical heating element, and to prevent the inner chamber of the device from becoming clogged with feedstock.
