Abstract:
A two-cycle internal combustion engine provided with a mask wall (8a, 40b), which is formed between a suction valve (6) and an exhaust valve (7) which are arranged above an inner surface (3a) of a cylinder head, and which is adapted to close throughout a period in which the suction valve (6) is fully opened an opening between that part of the circumferential portion of the suction valve (6) which is on the side of the exhaust valve (7) and a valve seat (9); and a fuel injection valve (14, 42) provided at that circumferential portion of the inner wall surface (3a) of the cylinder head which is on the side of the feed valve (6). In this two-cycle internal combustion engine, the injection of fuel from the fuel injection valve (14, 42) into a cylinder (1) is started when the suction valve (6) is opened. This enables the fuel to be ignited easily, and the combustion of the fuel after the ignition thereof to be stabilized.
