Abstract:
Disclosed as an embodiment is an information recording method for recording user data by converting the user data to a two-dimensional pattern. The method comprises: converting user data to a plurality of code words each of which is expressed by use of two values of first and second symbols and in each of which the ratio of the first and second symbols has been adjusted; and generating, on the basis of the plurality of code words, additional data for error correction. The method further comprises: grouping the plurality of code words into a plurality of first blocks in a predetermined unit; grouping the additional data into a plurality of second blocks in a predetermined unit; generating a two-dimensional pattern in which the first and second blocks are two-dimensionally interleaved; and recording the two-dimensional pattern into a recording medium.
