Title:
TWO-SCREEN TV RECEIVER
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1987/000715
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A two-screen TV receiver which simultaneously displays two different images on the same screen, comprises a field polarity detecting circuit (1) which detects the field polarity of a video signal of a main screen, first and second field memories (2) and (3) on which can be written video signals that form a sub-screen with a field as a unit, reading means which alternatingly reads the signals from the first and second field memories (2) and (3) in response to polarity detection signals of the field polarity detecting circuit (1), and a write field determining circuit which determines on which of the first and the second field memory (2) and (3) the video signals for the sub-screen should be written relying upon a polarity detection signal of the field polarity detecting circuit, read signals of the field memories (2) and (3), a vertical synchronizing signal in a video signal of the sub-screen, and a binary signal that changes alternately after each field responsive to the vertical synchronizing signal. Even when non-interlaced signals are input for the sub-screen, the signals can be written onto the first and second field memories (2) and (3), and two-screen images of good picture quality can be obtained.
