Title:
TWO-WAY BALL VALVE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2005/036036
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A clearance between a valve main body (2) and a ball plug (3) is sealed by a primary seat ring (24) and a primary O-ring (26). When a two-way ball valve (1) is switched from a fully opened state to a fully closed state by turning the ball plug (3) through 90°, the primary fluid pressure (P1) in a primary flow passage (5A) becomes higher than the pressure in a ball cavity (6), and by the pressure difference, the primary O-ring (26) is elastically deformed in its diameter increasing direction so as to produce a gap (G1) between the primary O-ring (26) and a primary annular groove (30). This allows the primary flow passage (5A) and ball cavity (6) to communicate with each other through a primary seat ring groove (28) and the primary annular groove (30), thereby equalization between the primary fluid pressure (P1) and the pressure (P3) in the ball cavity (6) and ball plug (3) is provided.
