Provided are a type II collector, and a data collection method and system, with application in the field of power technologies. The type II collector comprises a communication module chip (11) and a micro control unit (12). The micro control unit (12) has multiple serial ports and is separately connected to a first communication module (13), a second communication module (14), and the communication module chip (11) via respective serial ports. The micro control unit (12) is provided with an IO pin, and is connected to a data module of the communication module chip (11) via the IO pin. The communication module chip (11) switches a connection state of the IO pin by controlling the micro control unit (12), to switch a data transmission channel between the data module and the micro control unit (12). The data transmission channel is used to transmit data from the first communication module (13) or the second communication module (14). The above solution can realize rapid data collection and reduce costs without changing the number of physical serial ports of the communication module chip (11) of the current Type II collector.
