Abstract:
A β-type sialon phosphor in which europium is solid dissolved, wherein, when the 50% area average diameter of the primary particles of the β-sialon phosphor is referred to as D50 and the 10% area average diameter of the primary particles of the β-sialon phosphor is referred to as D10, D50 is 7.0-20.0 μm inclusive and (D50-D10)/ D50 is 0.60 or less. The primary particles are defined as single crystal particles that are classified depending on crystal orientation by identifying the crystal orientation of each β-type sialon phosphor particle by the electron backscatter diffractometry. D50 and D10 are determined by image-analyzing the cross sectional area of the primary particles.
