Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for an initial access procedure. In one such technique, a first network entity may send information regarding a presence of three-dimensional (3D) synchronization signal blocks (3D-SSBs) to a user equipment (UE). The UE may then send back a report indicating a capability of the UE to detect and decode different types of the 3D-SSBs. The first network entity may then select a configuration of the 3D-SSBs based on the report, and send the configuration of the 3D-SSBs to the UE. The UE may use the configuration of the 3D-SSBs to monitor the 3D-SSBs for the initial access procedure.
