Abstract:
Provided are novel ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene particles exhibiting high crystallinity and a high melting point that can provide a molded body having superior wear resistance, heat resistance, and high mechanical strength. The ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene particles satisfy: (1) an intrinsic viscosity (η) of 15-60 dL/g inclusive; (2) a bulk density of 130-700 kg/m3 inclusive; and (3) a ΔTm (ΔTm=Tm1-Tm2), which is the difference between the first scan melting point (Tm1) and the second scan melting point (Tm2) measured by means of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), of 11-30°C inclusive.
