Abstract:
An ultrafine filament manufacturing apparatus 1 is provided with: a nozzle 4 having a base filament pathway through which a base filament 50 fed from a base filament feeding device 2 passes, a compressed air introduction portion into which compressed air supplied from a compressed air supply device 3 is introduced, and a compressed air ejecting portion which is provided in the vicinity of an outlet side of the base filament pathway and from which the compressed air introduced from the compressed air introduction portion is ejected; a laser irradiation device 5 that irradiates the base filament 50 having passed through the base filament pathway of the nozzle 4 with a laser beam; and an ultrafine filament formation unit 6 that forms an ultrafine filament 51 by drawing the base filament 50 melted by irradiation with the laser beam by means of the compressed air ejected from the compressed air ejecting portion of the nozzle 4.
