Abstract:
Provided is a linear ultrasonic actuator having strong generating force while being compact in size, and not requiring adjustment between multiple oscillators. An ultrasonic actuator is provided with: a drive unit having a first piezoelectric body polarized in the thickness direction thereof, a second piezoelectric body polarized in the thickness direction thereof and positioned so as to face the first piezoelectric body, and first and second elastic bodies that sandwich and hold the first and second piezoelectric bodies, and being expandable/contractable in the direction in which the first and second elastic bodies sandwich and hold; a mobile body positioned so as to be movable in relation to the drive unit; a transmission unit joined to the drive unit and configured so as to be capable of adjusting gripping force in relation to the mobile body; and a control unit for linking the expansion/contraction of the drive unit and the gripping force adjustment of the transmission unit. Therein, the transmission unit grips the mobile body at the peak position of the oscillation.
