Title:
ULTRASONIC DRILLING MACHINE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1994/001256
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An ultrasonic machine wherein a minute processing pressure generated between a tool and a work is detected and a speed for feeding the tool is numerically controlled, so that an optimum processing pressure can be constantly produced, on the basis of the thus detected information. An ultrasonic vibrator unit mounted thereon with the tool is connected to a movable table in such a manner that said unit is vibrated even if a very small external force is applied thereto, and urged against the work by a processing pressure setting means with a predetermined urging force. When the processing is started while the movable table is fed, a processing pressure is generated between the work and the tool, and, when a reaction force acting on the tool surpasses said urging force, the ultrasonic vibrator unit is displaced relative to the movable table. This displacement is detected by a displacement detecting sensor, and, a controller controls a speed of feeding and/or an amount of feeding of the movable table in response to the signal of displacement thus detected.
