Abstract:
An ultrasonic flowmeter is provided in which the movement of a damping material provided on the piping of the ultrasonic flowmeter is suppressed so that an S/N ratio does not decrease. This ultrasonic flowmeter is provided with a first ultrasonic wave transmission and reception unit (20A) provided on the periphery of the upstream side of piping (A) inside which gas flows, a second ultrasonic wave transmission and reception unit (20B) provided on the periphery of the downstream side of the piping, a main unit (50) for measuring the flow rate of the gas on the basis of the ultrasonic wave propagation time from the first ultrasonic wave transmission and reception unit to the second ultrasonic wave transmission and reception unit and the ultrasonic wave propagation time from the second ultrasonic wave transmission and reception unit to the first ultrasonic wave transmission and reception unit, and an ultrasonic wave absorber (10) that is provided on the periphery of the piping and is for absorbing piping-propagating waves that are ultrasonic waves that propagate through the piping. The ultrasonic wave absorber (10) includes a first rubber layer (10A) formed on the periphery of the piping and a second rubber layer (10B) formed above the first rubber layer. The material of the first rubber layer is softer than that of the second rubber layer, the material of the second rubber layer is harder than that of the first rubber layer, and the second rubber layer surrounds the first rubber layer.
