Abstract:
Provided are an ultrasonic probe comprising signal lines which prevent the occurrence of acoustic crosstalk between piezoelectric elements which constitute a piezoelectric element array, and a method for fabricating the same. The ultrasonic probe comprises a first piezoelectric element array in which first piezoelectric elements each comprising electrodes respectively on both surfaces thereof are two-dimensionally arranged, and a second piezoelectric array which is stacked on the first piezoelectric element array and in which second piezoelectric elements each comprising a first electrode on the surface on the reverse side from the first piezoelectric element array and a second electrode on the surface on the first piezoelectric element array side are two-dimensionally arranged, wherein acoustic separating portions are provided between the first piezoelectric elements arranged in the first piezoelectric element array, and signal lines each connected to the second electrode after penetrating the acoustic separating portion and comprising a core having acoustic impedance approximately equal to the acoustic impedance of the acoustic separating portion and a conductive layer provided so as to cover the outer periphery of the core are provided.
