Abstract:
This ultrasonic probe is provided with a treatment portion which is provided to the distal-end side of a probe body portion, in which ultrasonic vibrations are transmitted, along the longitudinal axis of the probe body portion. In the site of the treatment portion that contributes to cutting of a target of treatment and is in contact with the cut area when the treatment portion forms said cut area in the target of treatment by moving, in a state in which ultrasonic vibrations are being transmitted and the treatment portion is in contact with the target of treatment, in a movement direction along a flat plane formed virtually by a track drawn by the longitudinal axis and/or in a three-dimensional movement direction that diverges from the movement direction along the flat plane, no recess grooves recessed toward the side opposite the side where the cut area is positioned are present.
