Abstract:
This ultrasonic sealing method, by repeatedly performing ultrasonic sealing processing on a continuous web (30) of a conveyed absorbent article, forms multiple seals spaced apart in the conveyance direction of the continuous web (30), and is characterized in that the ultrasonic sealing processing involves: a clamping step in which an ultrasonic horn (8) and an anvil (14) clamp the continuous web (30); a seal forming step in which a seal (S) is formed in the continuous web (30) by the ultrasonic horn (8) vibrating upon receiving ultrasonic waves generated by the ultrasonic generator (9); and a clamping release step in which clamping of the continuous web (30) is released. In the seal unit forming step, the ultrasonic wave generator (9) generates ultrasonic waves such that the time from starting emission to ending emission of the ultrasonic waves becomes longer than the repetition cycle of the ultrasonic sealing processing.
