Abstract:
The present invention relates to an ultrasound tomograph that comprises the following members connected in series: an annular antenna grid comprising reception-radiating piezo-converters; a multiple-channel unit comprising reception-transmission devices with an antenna switch; a multiple-channel analog-digital converter; a unit for processing the received signals; an image storage unit; and a tomographic imaging unit. The tomograph also includes a programmed-control rotating mount on which the annular antenna grid is mounted. This grid is a dispersed one and the reception-radiating piezo-converters are arranged according to a non-uniform pattern. The number of converters is lower than that of scanning units-pitches. The reception-radiating piezo-converters have a cylindrical radiating surface in which the arc length of the guide is higher than half the wavelength of the acoustic ultrasonic pulse of the radiation. The annular antenna grid for the ultrasound tomograph also includes at least two groups of reception-radiating piezo-converters. The converters of the first group have an identical inclination angle $g(u)¿0? relative to the perpendicular to the plane of tomographic scanning, i.e. to the plane perpendicular to the axis of the annular grid antenna. The converters of the second groups have various inclination angles $g(u)¿j? within a given range of e.g. -20° to +20°.
