Title:
ULTRAVIOLET IRRADIATION DEVICE AND METHOD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2018/047629
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a device that can effectively cool heat generated by an ultraviolet light-emitting diode (UV-LED) with a simple constitution. A UV-LED (11b) is accommodated within a housing (10) having an open end (10a) and a closed end (10b) with ultraviolet light translucency. The UV-LED (11b), which makes contact with a liquid to be treated via the housing (10) on the closed end (10b) side, irradiates the liquid to be treated with ultraviolet rays, and the housing (10) is cooled by the liquid to be treated. Thus, the heat generated by the UV-LED (11b) can be effectively cooled by a simple constitution without using a constitution that introduces dedicated cooling fluid for cooling the UV-LED (11b). A heat dissipating part (12) for releasing heat generated by the UV-LED (11b) to the outside may be provided on the open end (10a) of the housing (10). Part of the heat dissipating part (12) may be constituted so as to come into direct contact with the liquid to be treated.
