Abstract:
Disclosed is an ultraviolet irradiation device which can efficiently irradiate ultraviolet irradiated from an ultraviolet source on an object which is to be printed on, and can effectively cure ink. The disclosed ultraviolet irradiation device which irradiates ultraviolet on the ink on an object which is to be printed on is provided with at least one light source unit having a plurality of ultraviolet light sources lined up along the print width direction which is orthogonal to the conveyance direction of the object which is to be printed on, and a pair of reflection members which are arranged between the light source unit and the object which is to be printed on, and are arranged so as to enclose each light source unit from the upstream side and the downstream side in the conveyance direction. Each reflection member has a first reflection section which extends from the ultraviolet light source toward the object which is to be printed on, and either all or at least part of the first reflection section, with the incident angle from the ultraviolet source to the object which is to be printed being not less than a prescribed reference angle, reflects weak ultraviolet which is unlikely to contribute to the hardening of the inside section of ink, in a manner such that the incidence angle is smaller than the reference angle.
