Abstract:
An ultraviolet light-emitting element is provided. The ultraviolet light-emitting element comprises a light-emitting structure including: a first conductive semiconductor layer; a second conductive semiconductor layer located below the first conductive semiconductor layer; and an active layer, which is located between the first and second conductive semiconductor layers and emits ultraviolet light, wherein the light-emitting structure comprises at least one groove at least partially penetrating the second conductive semiconductor layer, a side surface of the active layer is partially exposed to a side surface of the groove, the ultraviolet light includes TM-polarized light, and an inclined angle θh of the side surface of the active layer, which is exposed to the side surface of the groove, with respect to the lower surface of the second conductive semiconductor layer, satisfies a predetermined condition.
