Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an ultraviolet light transmission system which does not require cutting of an optical fiber or complicated procedures when the optical fiber is to be replaced. The present invention pertains to a system which transmits light including ultraviolet band light via an optical transmission path formed of a silica-based optical fiber. The system includes an optical coupling unit configured from: an optical transmission path including a plurality of optical transmission parts on the same circumference from the center at an edge face of the optical coupling unit; an optical transmission path in which an optical transmission part is arranged on the same circumference as the circumference on which the plurality of optical transmission parts are arranged; two ferrules respectively incorporating the two optical transmission paths therein; and a cylindrical sleeve in which the two ferrules are inserted in a hollow space thereof, and the system is configured to use a rotation mechanism by which either of the two optical transmission paths of the optical coupling unit is rotated about an axis, thereby switching the optical transmission part.
