Abstract:
Disclosed is an umbrella holding device comprising a dial lock operation section installed in a case, an umbrella handle hitching section formed outside the case, and a shutter which is located at the front of the umbrella handle hitching section and makes it possible to open and close an opening. The dial lock operation section consists of a plurality of disk-shaped dials, cams concentrically disposed corresponding thereto, and an operation plate. The cams each have an arc-shaped cam surface with a flat surface formed in one place. The operation plate operates between a first state where the flat surfaces of all cams are abutted and a second state where the arc-shaped surface of at least one cam is abutted. The shutter shaft is in the closed position when the operation plate is in the second state. When the operation plate is in the first state, the shutter shaft is in the open position. Insertion holes for inserting release pins are formed in the case. A release pin fitting hole is formed in each arch-shaped cam surface. Each release pin fitting hole is such that when each cam takes a rotational position where the flat surface can abut the operation plate, the tip of each release pin inserted into the relevant insertion hole is fitted into the release pin fitting hole.
