Abstract:
The present invention relates to an umbrella and, particularly, to an umbrella which enables the cover thereof to have various shapes such as a circular shape, rather than a polygonal shape. The umbrella of the present invention comprises: a central bar having a handle formed at the lower portion thereof; a plurality of radially arranged ribs, each being pivotally connected at one end thereof to the upper portion of the central bar in the vertical direction; a cover covering the plurality of ribs; and a pad mounted to the edge of the cover, wherein the cover includes a protrusion portion protruding outward between each two adjacent ribs, the protrusion portion protrudes outward beyond the virtual straight line connecting the ends of each two adjacent ribs, and the pad is disposed under the protrusion portion so as to maintain the protrusion portion in a tensioned state when the cover is spread.
