[Problem] To enable an edge portion of an opening to be more securely fastened. [Solution] An underpants-type disposable diaper in which lateral edge sections of a ventral exterior portion and a dorsal exterior portion of an exterior body are joined on both sides in a width direction to form a waist opening, and edges of leg openings are formed at least partially by edges on both sides in the width direction of an interior body in the exterior body, wherein the ventral exterior portion and/or the dorsal exterior portion has, extending over a portion continuing thereto from an edge portion of the waist opening and/or the leg openings, a base layered portion in which an elastic film is layered between a first sheet layer and a second sheet layer, and a folded layered portion in which the elastic film and the first sheet layer and/or second sheet layer are folded back at the edge of the opening, the first sheet layer and the second sheet layer in the base layered portion and the folded layered portion being joined by numerous joining sections spaced apart in the width direction and a front-rear direction, and the base layered portion and the folded layered portion being able to expand and contract in the width direction by expansion and contraction of the elastic film.
