Abstract:

An underwater propulsion device (1) is provided with a propeller (11), a motor (12), and a housing (5). The motor (12) is disposed forward in a propulsion direction from the propeller (11) and rotatably drives the propeller (11). The housing (5), which accommodates the motor (12) and the propeller (11), has a first portion (5a) and a second portion (5b). An introduction port (21) and a jetting port (22) are formed in the second portion (5b), which is disposed rearward in the propulsion direction from the first portion (5a). The introduction port (21) introduces water into the housing (5). The jetting port (22) jets water that has been introduced from the introduction port (21) and sent out by the propeller (11) to the exterior of the housing (5). When viewed in a direction parallel to the propulsion direction, the introduction port (21) is disposed further outward than is the first portion (5a). The introduction port (21) introduces water into the housing (5) in a direction parallel to the axis line (11c) of the propeller (11).
