Abstract:
A unidirectional clutch 1 is provided with an inner ring 3, an outer ring 5, a plurality of cams 7 interposed between an inner-ring outer peripheral surface 11 and an outer-ring inner peripheral surface 13 and used to transmit torque between the inner ring 3 and the outer ring 5, a holding mechanism for holding the cams 7, and a spring member 15 for urging the cams 7 to a position of not transmitting torque; the holding mechanism comprising a first holding element 9 fixed to the outer ring 5 and having a cylindrical holding part 21 for holding the cams 7 at prescribed intervals in the circumferential direction, and a second holding element 29 which is disposed on the inside-diameter side of the cylindrical holding part 21, which holds the cams 7 in a swingable manner, and which can elastically deform in accordance with the swinging of the cams 7 when the cams 7 engage with the inner-ring outer peripheral surface 11 and the outer-ring inner peripheral surface 13 and swing in the direction of transmitting torque.
