Abstract:
A unit for keeping and managing articles, e.g. valuables, while grasping the storing conditions accurately regardless of the shapes or sizes of articles without requiring a dedicated key or tag. The unit for keeping and managing articles comprises a plurality of drawable/storable small boxes (10) provided at a plurality of inserting sections arranged in multiple rows and stages, a plurality of mechanisms (30) for locking against drawing the plurality of small boxes (10) inserted into the inserting sections, and a management control section (70) for controlling locking/unlocking of each locking mechanism (30). The management control section (70) performs authentication work of judging an authorized person and an accessible small box, and has a function of recording the use history of taking out/storing an article from/in the small box. When the small box (10) is locked by the locking mechanism (30) while storing an article, the article can be kept in safety and the article can be taken out at any time by unlocking the mechanism (30). Since a plurality of small boxes can be managed simultaneously, a large number of articles can be managed conveniently and in safety. Furthermore, the use history can be utilized as security information.
