Title:
UNIVERSAL FUNCTION BED
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1996/003904
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An automatic or manual universal function bed is adapted to swing through a one-fourth rotation in a transverse direction of a person in bed so as to enable the person to lie on his or her side and has many functions including a function of preventing bedsores at the back due to a positional difference between the person and a swing axle of the bed when the bed and a chair (referred to as a bed hereinbelow) are folded at centers thereof. A main portion (Fig. 4) of the bed except for leg portions is received in a semicylindrical-shaped swinging body (Fig. 2) and is placed on shafts (6) on a pedestal, so that a person sitting down on the bed with a cushion therebetween can lie on his or her side and shift sleeping positions at an angle of preference as the main portion swings. The bed is constructed such that a phenomenon, in which, upon adjustment of the angle, a positional difference between a swing axle (the anal region) of a person and a swing axle of the bed causes folding which leads to a serious back bedsore (Fig. 7), is made slight owing to shifting of the swing axles.
