Description:
AN UNIVERSAL GAS COMBUSTION UNIT

The invention belongs to heating appliances, namely, combustible gas combustion devices for various fuel combustion chambers.

A known technical solution is a solid fuel boiler burner consisting of a double- wall cylindrical housing - an external cylinder with an air inlet opening and an internal cylinder - and a combustible gas mixture formation and combustion channel with a cone-shaped central part installed in the internal cylinder (see patent application LT No. 5840, TPKK F 23 D 14/02 published in the Official Bulletin of the State Patent Bureau "Inventions, design, trademarks" No. 5, 2012).

The limitation of the known technical solution is unproductive formation of the combustible gas mixture and insufficiently efficient heat release.

The objective of the invention is to improve the intensity and quality of the formation of the combustible gas mixture and to achieve increased volumes of generated heat.

To achieve the objective of the invention, the unit consists of a double-wall cone-shaped housing with a hinged lid containing two parallel convex air preheating channels, which are connected to the air supply-preheating channel installed between the walls of the housing, an air supply tube connected to the housing, a double metal perforated cone-shaped core in the central part of the housing, which consists of the internal and external cores, a hot air distribution supply channel installed between the external core and the internal wall of the housing with an air inlet into the hot air distribution-supply channel, and a combustible gas mixture formation and combustion channel between the external and internal cores. Furthermore, to achieve the objective of the invention, the core of the unit has a lid with openings.

The invention is illustrated by drawings: Fig. 1 -front view of the principal scheme of the universal gas combustion unit, Fig. 2 -scheme of the unit from above, where 1 - housing of the unit, 2 - housing lid with air preheating channels 3, 4 - air inlet tube, 5 - air supply-preheating channel, 6, 7 - core of the unit, 8 - hot air distribution-supply channel, 9 - combustible gas mixture formation and combustion channel.

The metal housing 1 of the universal gas combustion unit has double walls and a hinged lid 2 with air preheating channels 3. The number of parallel convex air preheating channels 3 depends on the preferred power of the unit that will contain the universal gas combustion unit. The housing 1 is connected to the air inlet tube 4, which supplies air into the air supply-heating channel 5 located between the walls of the housing 1. The air preheating channels 3 are connected to the air supply-preheating channel 5. A double metal cone-shaped core with a lid consisting of the internal core 6 and external core 7 is installed in the central part of the housing 1. The lid and walls of the core have openings. A hot air distribution-supply channel 8 is installed between the internal wall of the housing of the unit 1 with an opening and the external core 7, which is designed to distribute and supply hot air into the combustible gas mixture formation and combustion channel 9 located between the external core 7 and the internal core 6. For the convenience of the unit use (for inserting or removing from the combustion chamber), a handle can be fixed to the housing 1. Operation of the universal gas combustion unit.

As an example, the unit can be used in a solid fuel boiler, where it is installed in the second combustion chamber. The burning of solid fuel, such as wood, wood waste or billets, releases combustible gas, which accumulates in the first combustion chamber and then gets into the second combustion chamber, where the universal gas combustion unit is installed. Firstly, external air comes through the air supply tube 4 into the air supply-preheating channel 5 and then goes into the air preheating channels 3. Hot channels 3 and 5 increase the air temperature. Afterwards the hot air goes through the opening in the internal wall of the housing of the unit 1 (not shown on the drawing) into the hot air distribution-supply channel 8 and then gravitates into the combustible gas mixture formation and combustion channel 9, which also contains combustible gas. Consequently, the combustible gas gets mixed with the hot air to achieve a rather efficient production of a quality gas mixture capable of effective burning to release up to 2000°C heat, which is evenly distributed as it moves towards the heat exchanger.

Specific strengths of the claimed technical solution include: an intensive formation of a quality combustible gas mixture, a more efficient burning of the combustible gas mixture, a complete combustion of the combustible gas mixture, and generation of rather large amounts of heat. The intensity levels of the combustible gas mixture formation and combustion depend on the supplied air temperature. The higher the temperature of the supplied air, the more intensively combustible gas mixes with air, the more effectively the combustible gas mixture burns and the greater amount of heat is generated. Furthermore, an important advantage is that the design of the unit ensures concentrated rather than diffused combustion of the combustible gas mixture and an even advancement of heat towards the heat exchanger. The claimed unit is universal and therefore it can be installed in different fuel combustion chambers.
