The unmanned mail device of the present invention comprises: a main body which is provided on the inside with a temporary mailed-article storage area and a mail-bag storage section, and is provided with a mailing-charge settlement unit; a display unit provided on the front surface of the main body; a mail-receiving unit which is provided toward the top of the temporary mailed-article storage area, and which moves back and forth between a first position where registered mailed articles are held and a second position constituting a position where an upper aperture of the temporary mailed-article storage area opens up; a first door which is provided in the front surface of the main body, and opens so as to allow mailed articles to be introduced when the mail-receiving unit is in the first position; a second door which is provided in the front surface of the main body lower than the first door so as to allow the removal of mailed articles temporarily stored in the temporary mailed-article storage area; and a control unit which controls the back-and-forth movement of the mail-receiving unit and the action of selectively opening and closing the first and second doors, and effects control in such a way that a single user can send one or more registered mailed article(s) as a batch.
