Abstract:

An unsaturated polyester resin composition which comprises 100 parts by mass of (a) an unsaturated polyester resin, 400 to 1000 parts by mass of a mixture of (b) an inorganic filler having a thermal conductivity of 20W/m∙K or higher and (c) aluminum hydroxide, 20 to 300 parts by mass of (d) a glass fiber up to 1.5mm in fiber length, and 15 to 50 parts by mass (e) a shrinkage-reducing agent, with the inorganic filler (b)/aluminum hydroxide (c) mass ratio being 80:20 to 20:80, characterized by further containing (f) a curing agent based on an alkyl peroxyalkylate represented by general formula (1): R'-C(O)-O-O-C(CH3)2-R (1) [wherein R is an alkyl group, and R' is an alkyl group having three or more carbon atoms] and (g) a polymerization inhibitor. The unsaturated polyester resin composition can provide a cured product which has a low shrinkage factor, a low coefficient of linear expansion, and high thermal conductivity, while the unsaturated polyester resin composition exhibits excellent in-mold fluidity and curability.
