Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a method and the like for producing 2-keto-3-deoxy-D-gluconate (KDG) efficiently by using an enzyme capable of producing KDG through reduction of 4-deoxy-L-erythro-5-hexoseulose uronic acid (DEH). [Solution] This problem is solved by a method for producing KDG by bringing DEH into contact with a polypeptide having an amino acid sequence indicated in SEQ ID NO:2 or a polypeptide that has a DEH-reducing activity and that has an amino acid sequence sharing at least 85% identity with said amino acid sequence.
