Abstract:
An updating control device provided with: a communication unit for communicating with an onboard control device via a transmission path that includes an in-vehicle communication line; and a control unit which, when the intended device defined below is unable to execute a control program updating process, causes a request message requesting that some of the updating process be substituted by an alternative device that is the unintended device defined below to be transmitted by the communication unit. Intended device: Onboard control device the control program of which is to be updated. Unintended device: Onboard control device the control program of which is not to be updated.
