Abstract:
The present invention provides an upper nozzle withdrawing device which does not require attachment/detachment and moving of a hydraulic hose and which enables easy and safe work. The present invention pertains to an upper nozzle withdrawing device 100 for withdrawing an upper nozzle 300 installed with a sliding nozzle device 400 in the bottom part of a molten metal container 200. The upper nozzle withdrawing device 100 is provided with a withdrawing rod 150 having an engagement part engageable with the upper nozzle 300; and a drive direction converter 110, wherein the drive direction converter 110 converts the direction of a driving force by a drive device 450, which causes a plate of the sliding nozzle device to slide, to the direction perpendicular to the sliding direction of the plate and transmits the driving force to the withdrawing rod 150.
